Brian Wilson of the Beach Boys has released a live film of a concert he recorded back in 2014. The film, titled Brian Wilson & Friends, was officially released today on CD/DVD and Blu-Ray editions via BMG.
On Dec. 12, 2014, Brian Wilson’s PBS Soundstage concert in Las Vegas featured special guests including Wilson’s Beach Boys bandmate Al Jardine, as well as past members Blondie Chaplin and Ricky Fataar. The film also features guest performances by members of She & Him, Kacey Musgraves and Nate Ruess of fun.
Until now, the film had only been available through 2015 as a PBS exclusive, only on DVD and Blu-Ray formats. The new package features exclusive behind-the-scenes content, guest artist interviews and bonus tracks. Wilson will subsequently be publishing I Am Brian Wilson: A Memoir this October.
Wilson is currently on tour performing the Beach Boys’ seminal album Pet Sounds for the last time. Check out his remaining tour dates below, and order Brian Wilson & Friends here.
